Finally, Crew's turn

Crew and Jus went skiing last Sat. Crew had been waiting for this day for two straight weeks. He was so excited. On Friday night they both went and got their ski rentals. Crew brought them inside and was going to show me how everything fit. It was so cute to see him all decked out. He even had a helmet and the best part was that it was on backwards. He was so proud. It was going to be this warm sunny day, and the day before we found out that the storm was moving in faster than they had planned. Well, there was no way that we could tell him he could not go. So, they headed up to Snow Basin. (Thanks to Grandma Gin and Aunt Jilly for watching the girls while I worked.)
[Justin- Since Jaim likes to publish novel's I will keep it short. Crew and I had a great time, he is certainly not afraid of anything. As we were ready to go down the hill for the first time he asked were the jumps were, the second time down he said he could do it by himself and promised me he wouldn't fall (ya right), by the third time down it was old hat. (I find it hilarious that Jaime made the title of this entry "Finally Crew's turn" because turning was not his specialty. He wanted no part of snowplowing, he's more of a tuck and go kid.) Were shooting for X-Games in 2020, maybe "Tuck n Go" will be an event by then. Anyways, I absolutely love being a dad, its the greatest blessing in the world. ]
My friend reminded me about how I learned ski. It made me laugh so I decided to share it. So, having never been skiing and in Jr. High I really wanted to go. My friend, Jaime (ya, we have the same name and spelling) lived down the street from me and invited me skiing with her family. We went to Powder Mtn. and got right on the lift and headed straight for the top on the highest part. I was not scared at all. Her lesson to me was after I had already started down the mtn. yelling "TURN." I seriously went straight down going mock 90. I can't believe I did not die. And that's that. I loved it and did learn to turn. One funny story is that we loved skiing through the trees. (Remember I am in 7th grade) This one time my friend went over a smaller tree and it caught and riped a hole in her crotch. So, she took off her red snow pants and threw them in this taller tree and we continued on skiing. We would pass the pants and laugh. Well, it was time to go and the lifts were closed so we met her family at the car. When we got there her Dad said "Jaime, can I have the keys." Yep, the keys were in the red pants in the tree far from the car. We had to hike to get them. What a great story. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did when I heard it again from her. Crew learned to ski the fast way just like I did.
